February has been the calendar perfect month. It fit in a lovely rectangle and just seemed nice for a change. Realistically that meant nothing in terms of how the month went but it was a nice thing to see. For me, this month has been about making progress and seeing what I can do then realising how much of a struggle it is.
I have had a little bit of a mixed month again. I think this is my new pattern!
I decided I would go back and slowly go through Detroit: Become Human (PS4) again. The hope is that this time everyone will be peaceful, all characters will survive and I will find at least one of the two magazines I am missing. Ideally I will then just need to do one part playthrough after this to complete the game fully. I have quite a way to go with this playthrough but it is interesting making different choices this time.
I also decided to finally go back and get that Ratchet & Clank (PS4) platinum. After some difficulty with one hoverboard race being over the specified time by a fraction of a second multiple times I got there. I am really excited for Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart now.
As part of Game Pass I played The Little Acre (Xbox One) which is an adorable point and click adventure game that only takes around an hour or two to complete. The selling point for me was the screenshots, this game just looks so pretty. I then found out that the animation is all hand-drawn and when combining this with the voice acting the game is just so perfect. This was such a sweet little adventure and game which just let me have fun and smile.
Another Game Pass find was Night Call (Xbox One). This one lets you hear (read) stories as you are the taxi driver on a night shift, whilst assisting the police with a case where you have to find the criminal. There are three cases plus a mode where you can just free roam. I spent so much time just in free roam trying to meet everyone and hear certain customers many stories. Some interactions were humorous, some showed great sadness and some people just needed to talk. This was quite relaxing to sit and play for a couple of hours just reading the conversations and choosing which fare you would pick.
The Gardens Between (Xbox One) is another adventure puzzle game I discovered through Game Pass. The puzzles in this were great fun and seeing the story through memories, puzzles and the two characters who don’t say anything was really special.
Night in the Woods (Xbox One) is a game that I have heard so much about over the years, since it is on Game Pass I decided to give it a play. I haven’t finished this yet as this feels like one I should take my time with. I am also rather frustrated with my lack of ability in the rhythm guitar playing minigame…! I just want to do well for once please.
I spotted The Walking Dead: Michonne (Xbox One) on Game Pass and it is one I don’t own from the Telltale Walking Dead games. I decided to play this with the idea of playing the Final Season soon. I am still unsure if I am ready to finish Clem’s story or not. This one is as you would expect with The Walking Dead games and I enjoyed going through the story.
Hellblade Senua’s Sacrifice (Xbox One) is a fantastic experience and one game that I am so glad I finally played. This was very much overdue a play. The emotions that you go through with Senua and all the little details they manage with the sound in the game are incredible. I enjoyed finding the lorestones and listening to these as well. This also has me very interested in learning more about Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 and really hope we hear more soon.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey (Xbox One) is a game I actually last played in 2019. I completed the main game, but I owned the DLC which I had not even started. Feeling the Assassin’s Creed call but having had difficulties with Valhalla I decided I would finally play this DLC and to get the remaining achievements for the main game as well. This month I got the final main game achievements completed and started the Fates of Atlantis DLC as I stumbled into it first. This has been so much fun jumping back to and finally experiencing the DLC. I still love Kassandra.
Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney (PS4) was the only game I actually streamed in February. This game is so much fun on stream but a lot of talking energy. I really need to set up with multiple drinks next time to ensure I don’t need to step away to grab a refill!
I have been struggling and trying to ignore it. However, there are some things I am working on and I am hopeful to continue with this to a point where I am not in such a way. Depression is hard, and so is anxiety, and they are really affecting my day to day life and memory. I sometimes need time to breathe and this is sadly away from the blog and streams as I don’t want my mental state to impact on these too much. I ended up cancelling several blog posts I had scheduled for February as I wasn’t happy with them but these are going to get reworked.
Hope you had a good February and played some great games.
