Recently I saw Heather over at Just Geeking By had announced an exciting new project that had been in the works for quite some time. Looking into it I knew I had to get involved in the fun and that fun is Seriously Geeky Sundays. Check out those links to Just Geeking By to find out more and maybe take part in future!
This week, the first week, is all about getting to know each other and beginnings.
Let’s start with the basics; who are you and what do you do?
So I’m The Gaming Diaries. In the real, offline world I am a retail sales assistant and have been a statistician and basically don’t really know what I want to be anymore. In my spare time I blog here and stream at times, I play games and build Lego sets too.
When did you start blogging?
I started blogging in August 2017. I’ve had a few breaks in this time but it’s going to be 3 amazing years of blogging later this year.
Do you personally identify as a geek or nerd, or both?
I do but I don’t necessarily specify how or why as it’s more I feel like a bit of a geek/nerd depending on what it is I’m thinking about. Equally you can still be a geek/nerd without identifying as it. It works for me and it works now but that could change.
When did you first realise you were a geek/nerd?
I guess I was told I was first but then sort of accepted that it’s pretty accurate as a description for me. I was very scholarly and loved learning so that was possibly part of the other kids reasoning but also being interested in reading for fun and games added to their thoughts. It was just a part of who I was as a child. The same as my love of art and crafts. Though let’s face it I am geeky.
What was your first geeky interest?
Probably Lego and reading. Though I have been told I was fascinated about dinosaurs for a long time when I was younger and that was my ‘topic’ for a while.
What was the first movie you watched this year?
Frozen 2. I wish there was an interesting story in that but there isn’t. I love Disney and had been looking forward to seeing Frozen 2. It took me a while to manage to see it but got there at the start of this year.
Thank you for the fun of the first week of Seriously Geeky Sundays and thank you Heather for coming up with this.
