The fantastic Brandon from That Green Dude nominated me for a Sunshine Blogger Award ages ago (seriously was it really August?!). Today I finally answer his questions but you should definitely check out his blog as well.
So there are some rules for this award, that I have gone over previously but here they are again for you.
Thank the blogger who nominated you and link back to their blog.
Answer the 11 questions the blogger asked you.
Nominate 11 new blogs to receive the award and write them 11 new questions.
List the rules and display the Sunshine Blogger Award logo in your post and/or on your blog.
Now the best bit… answering the questions!
What is your favourite genre of game?
I love games that have options, that I can go through and take my time with and can give me options of how to play. That said I will play just about any genre as long as it isn’t horror. Favourites are probably action, adventure or RPG types at least at the moment.
Which video game soundtrack is your favourite?
I’m still loving the Stardew Valley soundtrack because it is so relaxing. It just sounds so nice and calming and I love it.
Which video game company do you like the most?
I think this changes for me a lot. It depends on what I’m playing at the time and what I am enjoying or even looking forward to. I am probably going for my (slightly cheat) answer of Nintendo here because they have provided me with such fantastic memories through the years. It is maybe partially down to nostalgia, with a dash of comfort and a touch of enjoying their handheld consoles so much (also their other consoles but you have to love a Nintendo handheld) as well as their games and characters.
If you were a wrestler, what would your name be?
I have no idea about what would make a good wrestling name but if I was to try wrestling I would fail miserably. The Failure or The Surprise.
What is your favourite TV show?
Criminal Minds. I love the characters in the team so much, especially Spencer and Penelope. I’ve been rewatching the series for the last few months and I’m back up to series 8, so still lots to watch again.
Have you enjoyed a game that critics have panned?
Probably. I can’t think of an example off the top of my head but I’m fully expecting to have enjoyed games that critics disliked. I’ve enjoyed games that no one I know has enjoyed so why not one that the critics have panned.
What is your favourite game console?
Currently, I’d say Xbox One because I play more on it. I adore my Switch but that is my go to for certain things, PS4 is fantastic but again that is for certain things. My Xbox One is just the one I’m more likely to choose, I prefer the controller and there’s just something that pushes it up to the top. Sure I’m only basing this on current consoles only because it is too hard to choose an overall favourite.
Pepsi or Coca-Cola? (This is the most serious question)
What goals do you want to achieve by the end of the year?
Fun fact, I had started writing this post ages ago but for some reason I stopped with it unfinished then I had a blogging break but I had answered this question. In the time since I had achieved my blogging goals that I mentioned and it had turned from 2018 to 2019. I talked about some resolutions for 2019 already but to put some goals in as well I will say: to get to 400 followers of my blog (may be unachieveable but I have 10 full months and most of another to achieve this), to put my blog *out there* more (like being more confident as a blogger and trying to promote it more) and try to get involved with blogging things (events, collaborations etc) more.
What is your favourite cartoon?
Going back to cartoons I love from years ago would be Peanuts (Snoopy and Charlie Brown etc) and Garfield.
You have to buy one of the following games, which one do you get? Your options: Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, Soul Calibur VI, Fallout 76, Red Dead Redemption 2 or Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. These games all look like they will be fantastic but I’m most drawn to Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. In fact I have been playing it since the start of the year and love it. Of course I also feel like I might be playing it forever because I get distracted doing everything and talking to all the people who want my help and trying to upgrade my ship and so on.
Now I am actually going to ask some questions and nominate some (though not 11) lovely bloggers. It has been a while since I followed through with the whole spirit of the award.
My lovely nominees are (who should feel no pressure if they don’t want to do this):
The Hannie Corner who recently updated her blog and now runs from The Hannie Corner and even discusses the games she played last year. I still have a response to one of her posts coming but she deserves a nomination back.
My questions would be:
1. What is the game you are most looking forward to being released this year? (Any already released in 2019 don’t count)
2. If you could cosplay as any character from any game who would you choose?
3. What film, TV series or book would you like to see as a video game? (If any)
4. What game would you like to play for the first time again? A complete fresh start with no memories of playing it before.
5. What was the first game you played this year?
6. If you could visit any in game world, where would you choose?
7. Physical or digital copies of games?
8. What do you wish non-gamers could understand about gaming?
9. How do you think you have changed as a blogger?
10. Do you have any goals for your blog this year? If so, what are they?
11. What advice would you give people about blogging?
