It is Day 2 of the Blogmas collaboration created by the amazing Athena at AmbiGaming. To continue with the gaming version of the 12 days of Christmas. This is a lot of things to write about but a fantastic event to get involved in.
Cue the singing…
On the 1st day of Christmas, the gamers said to me: What are 12 favorite gaming memories?
On the 2nd day of Christmas, the gamers said to me: Tell us 11 games you love!
So what games do I love? Lots of them so I kept this to games I have played this year as a sort of favourite games that I have played for the first time this year (technically with the versions I played when you get to the remasters).
Horizon Zero Dawn

I love Aloy, I love the world and I love the game. Just absolute love. I really want to play it again.
What Remains of Edith Finch

I found this game really stuck with me and it is so emotional in such a simple way. This game is fantastic and really deserves to be played by everyone.
Spyro Reignited Trilogy
So I haven’t got past the first Spyro game yet as I haven’t had much of a chance to play. However, I love this. I love Spyro and it is so much fun.
Crash Bandicoot N-Sane Trilogy

Well I may have only spoken about this and the original on a regular basis but you all know I love it.
Yakuza 0
I still haven’t finished this but it has been brilliant and I love the characters.
Stardew Valley

It is addictive, it is charming, it is a game you can lose track of time with. It is so relaxing and sometimes that is the best type of game.
Knowledge is Power
This is great fun with a few people. Plus you can get surprisingly competitive. Each of the games are fairly quick so it is one you can get through easily and have a good laugh when you start getting questions wrong and thwarting people with all gloop, ice and nibblers.
Spider-Man

I just loved swinging around the city. Basically give me a chance to swing around as Spider-Man and I’m going to be happy. It was even my first, and so far only, platinum trophy.
Picross S
Of course I had to mention a Picross game as I love these. I find them relaxing and they have been really good for me this year.
Just Dance 2018
In my attempts for you know doing some greater level of exercise than my usual I did plan to do this regularly. In the end the heatwave and now the cold has scuppered this. That and my drive to play Just Dance has been low so I gave up. However, I love all these games and the 2018 version is so much fun as with all the previous ones. Though Beep Beep I’m a Sheep just results in laughter for me now.
Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney

This was a game I had managed to forget I owned and not play for years. I finally played it earlier this year and loved it. This is such a great mix of both series and I really enjoyed the puzzles and the courtroom sections.
What games do you love? Remember to have a look at the posts of the other people taking part in this collaboration.
Ah, Spider-Man. It was such a great experience this year. An open world game with all the excess rubbish trimmed away along with a traversal system that almost peerless. Insomniac sure know how to make getting around feel good!

I loved the traversal system as it was just so much fun. It made you want to explore. I’m glad I picked it up as I had so much fun with that game.

Phoenix Wright and Professor Layton is one I want to play at some point, but I feel like I should be current with both series first. I’ve finally finished Ace Attorney but still have to catch up with the Layton games!

I haven’t played all the Ace Attorney games but still loved the AA parts. I do love the games I’ve played in that series, I just haven’t been able to get all of them. Whereas Layton I was up to date with. It is a really good mix of the two.

That’s what I’ve heard, is that it does combine the two of them quite well. I’m excited to eventually try it out!
