It’s the end of July, the end of my month as star blogger and the end of a month of gaming. This month has been stressful and so much fun for me as a gamer.
This month has been a month of a lot of Crash Bandicoot N-sane Trilogy. A lot. Don’t judge me, but I have the Xbox One and Nintendo Switch versions and have been playing both. In some ways I’m better at it on one version or the other but not equally good on both. So far I have been playing Crash Bandicoot and … There have been lots of fun moments, mixed in with platforming stress.
I continued a bit of Just Dance 2018 (Xbox 360). The main issue I had was the heat as I struggled to do much dancing but I tried. Dancing is still fun but I need it a little cooler before I start dancing these days. Towards the end of the month I managed a bit more but not as much as I planned/hoped for.
Another Kinect game I played was Harry Potter for Kinect (Xbox 360). To know me is to know I have a massive soft spot for the Harry Potter universe. I love the Harry Potter books, films, and basically anything else you can imagine really. My story with this game is quite funny though. I have had it for years. Originally I didn’t know it existed, it was mentioned to me by Player 2 and I thought I’d buy it as a present for him as he is also a fan, it was something we could both play and enjoy and we actually met because of Harry Potter. Turns out he had the same idea so we now have two copies. That all happened a few years ago, but times where Kinect games were not really possible due to space I had only completed a tiny bit of the game. I have now got through most of the story and just have a few extra blackboard lessons to try out and Year 6 and 7 to complete.
I started Horizon Zero Dawn (PS4). I was very excited to start this. Having heard so many good things about it I was worried that I would then be a bit disappointed as it didn’t live up to expectations or I would feel like I knew it despite staying away from any knowledge of what happens. So far I’m loving this. I just want to keep going. I hope that I can reach the end of the main story by the end of the year.
As you can probably guess I think I’ve gone off the rails with my plans for games to complete this year. However, I can honestly say I don’t mind. I’m playing games I enjoy and even though I still want to play the games on this list, other than the ones I have already, I’m fine with playing what I want and feel like. I might get round to some of these by the end of the year but if I don’t I accept that too. Though I do need to get back to Dishonored at some point!
What have you been playing this month? Let me know in the comments.
