May Gaming

May has been a pretty summery month which has been lovely for a change, but there is always time for games along the way. Also because I have been pretty quiet on the blogging front, I should have a lot of games to talk about. Should but not necessarily… I did quite well this month until I started one particular game and that has taken over.

I do feel like I have some explaining to do on the whole quietness, which when I’m ready to I will go into as I want you all to know my plans and understand why I’m not as good at replying to comments and posting at the moment. I’m not going anywhere but I think I’ll still be fairly quiet for June. Also I have some plans to make my blog look a bit better so this may happen soon(ish – probably not soon but you never know) and I’m hoping to get some planned posts written and maybe get back to posting once a week but at the moment I’m not holding myself to that.

I finally started Dishonored Definitive Edition (Xbox One).

There is so much to see in each of the levels so I’m going through this really slowly to try to see as much as I can. Plus I may be the worst person at stealth in this game… but I’m getting slightly better. My poor world will most likely be overrun by rats by the end though.

I’ve spent quite a bit of time on two Picross games. I felt like a new puzzle and ended up with both Picross S and Pic-a-Pix Deluxe (both NS). I have completed all the main levels on Picross S, so all other than the Mega Picross levels which I have started. I also completed all the levels in Pic-a-Pix Deluxe. Good fun, lots of puzzles and, for me, quite relaxing.

I completed Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 (Xbox One), other than some characters that I still need to collect, gold bricks and some of the extra challenges that you need to complete. For now I have completed it as I will be going back to this when the Ant Man and the Wasp level is released because I did buy the season pass so I could get the extra levels.

I went back to try to get a bit further with Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate (3DS). I didn’t get much further since I got lost again. I seriously think I am just terrible at making my way round this game. It shouldn’t even be that hard to navigate but apparently I find it easy to get lost. I think that is my superpower in this game.

I also went back and finished The Turing Test (Xbox One). It took me a while to get back into the swing of these puzzles since it had been a while but I’m so glad I finished it. I also really appreciated the honestly of the thanks section in their credits.

I started playing Stardew Valley (NS and Xbox One) which is nice and relaxing. I was enjoying it so much on the Switch that I wanted the physical version on Xbox One (because of the map, soundtrack and mini guidebook) and started it there too since I decided I may as well try it there since I own it. Don’t judge me!

I’m really enjoying just spending time to grow crops or clear some of the farm or talk to the townspeople as well as fishing and mining. I honestly could just spend my time either fishing or mining. The sad thing is since I started Stardew Valley I haven’t played anything else… but it is so good.

What have you been playing this month? Any game plans for June? Let me know in the comments.

  1. I love Stardew valley, it’s so relaxing. I come back to it every few months.
I’ve never actually played any of the Lego games but they look really fun, I’d like to try one! Marvel Superheroes looks fun.
Take your time with the quietness, everyone needs a break now and again, I hope everything’s OK!

    1. Thank you. Stardew Valley is just so relaxing and it is perfect for me at the moment. I really like the Lego games since they are fun, some of the dialogue is really funny and there is such a range of franchises with Lego games that you can find one that you enjoy.

  2. I’ve been playing Ni No Kuni 2, whose art style and soundtrack I’ve fallen in love with. I’ve also been playing quite a bit of Elder Scrolls Online, it looks like I’ve gotten the MMO bug bad!

  3. Stardew Valley was a must buy for me on Nintendo Switch, since it was the perfect pick-up and play game for those moments when exam revision and assignments got too stressful. It was fun to just grow some crops and go on little adventures in the town.

    1. It does work so well on Switch as the perfect pick up and play game. It is a great way to relax if things get a bit much. I’m glad you found it helpful when revision and assignments got too stressful and I hope your exams/assignments all went ok.

  4. Stardew Valley is a game that my friends have been trying to get me into on PC. The Lego Marvel Superheroes game looks pretty cool. Thanks for the update!

    1. I’m loving Stardew Valley as the perfect chill out game where you can just tend to your farm or chat with townspeople or explore mines and fish. It is great fun, really relaxing and I just love it. I really enjoy the Lego games and I really like the Marvel Superheroes and Avengers games. Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 does have a lot to do with the usual bricks and characters and small quests to get them and then challenges as well.

  5. I’ve been really into Stardew Valley, myself. I’ll probably take it slow and play a little at a time, but it’s so relaxing and I love it! Otherwise, my gaming has been all over the place. The most notable accomplishment is that I beat Assassin’s Creed 2, which took me about 5 years worth of picking it up, playing a sequence, and forgetting about it for 6 months. I’ll try to play brotherhood and revelations a bit more quickly 🙂
