Again, this is a post inspired by the prompt from Later Levels as part of the Creative Christmas: a gaming collaboration. So this prompt is: “It’s now time to head out to the kitchen to put on your oven gloves and start preparing Christmas dinner. It consists solely of video game food; what’s on the menu?”. Ooh Christmas dinner… delicious… hopefully.
To be honest I struggled with this prompt as nothing came to mind immediately. I obviously don’t pay attention to food in a games as often as I should. Then when I really thought about it I remembered some video game food and decided to form a mix and match Christmas dinner because why not.
For a starter I would serve Onion soup (Overcooked). All the chopping of onions in Overcooked and the cooking of Onion Soup I would guess it must taste pretty good. Perfect for a starter. Just please don’t adapt my kitchen like the crazy ones in Overcooked! Please. I wouldn’t cope.
For the main we shall travel to The Sims as I recall a Turkey dinner being an option. Perfect for Christmas dinner. I hope that it is a success on the night given the difficulties Sims seem to have with cooking certain food.
Finally, on to the best course of any meal. Dessert. Yummy. One came to mind as I had seen Sheikah Plate post a recipe for this and it has stuck with me. What would this dessert be I hear you ask? Apple Pie (I mean it looks fantastic). It may not be traditional Christmas Pudding but why should it need to be. I would also serve some fruit for myself, perhaps the selection of fruits from Pac-Man as cherries, strawberries, orange, apple and melon would make a nice mix.
There is my mix and match Christmas dinner inspired from video game food. What would make your video game food Christmas dinner menu? Let me know in the comments.
