A Christmas Wish

Later Levels very kindly gave us a lovely prompt for today as part of the Creative Christmas: a gaming collaboration about a gift waiting under the tree for us. In fact the prompt says “Your help must have worked, because it’s now Christmas morning and presents are under the tree! There’s a fancy box with your name on it; which gaming-related item are you hoping is inside?”. So decisions, decisions. What do I want to be inside this lovely fancy box?

The box is probably a bit fancier than these presents…

I have mentioned a Switch once or twice so won’t mention it again. The gaming related item I want to choose is also a craft item. I have loved doing art and making things for years and what I will choose combines the two very nicely.

A while ago I was browsing Etsy, as you do, and came across various gaming cross stitch patterns that I would love to use. Of course, I would probably need to buy the appropriate thread colours but still these are super cool and I think would be really nice when finished. When trying to decide what one to mention in this post I struggled so shall mention the three that I would like first.

The first I chose to mention here combines my love of Mass Effect and cross stitching. Perfect combo right. Well TheRuffledRaptor on Etsy is the place to be for this Mass Effect design. As gamers we are often in the search for XP. There is this design from RatherUnseamly which notes “That which does not kill me… gives me XP”. Thirdly I want to also mention this design from RockingHorseCS as it is perfect as a welcome to the house. “In this house… we do gaming”. These may become future projects if I get gifted/buy these patterns.
If these were in the box under the tree (preferably with the appropriate thread) I would be quite surprised and pleased. What would you hope for? Let me know in the comments.

  1. I haven’t done cross-stitch in years but I used to really enjoy it… the links on Etsy have now kind of inspired me. I think I might try and do the ‘in this house’ one for my stepson’s bedroom. 🙂

    1. I haven’t done any in a while and got some out recently, really small kits but just something to get me started with it again, so I’ve been looking at other patterns. I really want to do the “in this house” one for by our consoles.
